Meneses Campus Governor Shania Delos Reyes shared her sentiments and disappointments for the initiatives of the university administration as the BulSU Student Government's third General Assembly opened the discussion last night for the Call to

Re-Open the Schools (Bukas na Paaralan Proposal).

In her two years as a student leader, Gov. Delos Reyes points out the inability of the administration to respond to numerous reports regarding facility concerns from the campus' local administrators that need to be renovated.

With regard to this, Meneses Campus Board Member Lei Gatchalian expressed her opposition by describing the current standing of the campus regarding plans to implement full-blast face-to face this upcoming second semester, as the campus is still recovering from the damages caused by Typhoon Paeng.

This brought sentiments for Gov. Delos Reyes to express her 'envy' as one of the external campuses being 'left out' by the administration despite being one of the advocates of BNP proposal.

"Kagaya nung last time na nagkaroon ng electrical problem sa Meneses and four weeks kaming walang kuryente. 'Yung offices, sobrang hanga po ako du'n sa mga staff kasi sobrang resilient nila na-- knowing na ang hirap mag-function ng walang kuryente, but still, they did their part." Gov. Delos Reyes, as she admired the efforts of the campus' faculties and stakeholders, as well as condemned the absence of support from the administration.

Furthermore, Gov. Delos Reyes still acknowledged the improvements brought by the administration in her two years of serving the council.

Despite the gradual approval of the reopening of schools, the BulSU Student Government continuously seeks to improve the proposal to create a more inclusive way of addressing the needs and demands of the students.

"As we are all near to safely re-opening our classes and spaces, policies and guidelines must always be consulted to the student community and shall take it into account as we are part of its stakeholders,"-- section 6 of the proposal.

The 'Bukas na Paaralan' proposal serves as a recommendation for the administration in relation to the students' welfare and demands, with the return of traditional learning modality.

Currently, it has six sections that previously passed provisions including the call for

face-to-face training for student athletes, cultural performers, student organizations, and publications.
