To fight for the rights of every student, Bulacan State University (BulSU) Senator John Karlos Ven Castro discussed the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) Revision under Article II of the Magna Carta of Students in the BulSU Student Government 3rd General Assembly, last November 27.

Article II which is also known as "Right to a Discrimination-Free and Gender-Sensitive University" aims to protect all sectors and stakeholders to have a safe University for everyone.

In the meeting, Sen. Castro opened the discussion for Article II of MCOS as he proposed the revised IRR to ask for approval and extend courtesy to other committees.

"Through the definition nung mga terms ay hopefully, malinawan, mabigyang-linaw yung mga probisiyon and yung mga terms nga po na maaaring ma-interpret differently ng ibang tao sa mga susunod na panahon. So through this definition ay nagseset na tayo kung ano ba 'yung pinaka-ibig sabihin du'n sa mga lalamanin-- kung paano 'yung pinaka-magiging implementation nitong Article 2," says Sen. Castro as he recognized the possible misinterpretation for the intentions of the said Magna Carta.

Sen. Castro also points out in the 3rd segment of the General Assembly, which is the Open Discussion, that 'deadnaming', shoud be an additional term that was recommended to include by BulSU Bahaghari as it can be a ground for offensive acts.

Without any act of disagreement and thus support from other committees, the proposed IRR will be submitted for the approval of the university administration.

Additionally, the proposed IRR corrected the use of the term "cross-dressing" to "gender affirmative clothing" to make it politically correct.

Moreover, the BulSU SG is planning to implement laws regarding persons with disabilities (PWDs) that will be called differently-abled persons, the freedom of religion act, and uphold democratic rights.

The MCOS is a pro-minority document that intends to fight for equal rights for everyone, including working students, differently-abled people, solo parents, and journalism students.
