MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — Vehicles piled up due to road blockage in Paseo Del Congreso for the construction of North-South Commuter's Railway.

The congested traffic in the area usually happens every morning around 7:30 to 8:00 am. Daily commuters are affected by this road interruption, delaying their respective errands.

"Inaagahan ko ng alis sa bahay lalo na kapag rush hour. Pinakamabilis na [byahe ay] 30 to 45 minutes pero 1 and a half hour usually kapag sobrang traffic at may ginagawang kalsada," Dane, a 30-year old nurse said, who commutes in Malolos to Hagonoy.

This issue doesn't only affect passengers but the jeepney drivers as well.

"Kapag masyadong matraffic, konsumo sa oras eh, instead na gagarahe ka na ng 6 pm, kapag masyado ng late, gagarahe ka ng 8:30 or 9 pm, " Efron, a 59-year old jeepney driver stated.

He added that heavy traffic results in going home late to his family.

For now, vehicles going from Malolos Bayan can pass through the Philippine National Railway (PNR) road to cross Mac Arthur Highway but the road will reopen on December 5, 2022 according to Malolos Information Office (MIO) Facebook post.

Roadway caution and Diversion Plan from Malolos City Information Office Facebook Page.

Also, the authorities advised drivers to take alternate routes like Fausta Road and Catmon Road to lessen the traffic jams.

The said PNR project started its construction in February 2019, and is expected to be completed by 2024, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTR).
